APACS South Australia

 

The APACS (SA) is the local chapter of the national organisation of psychologists and counsellors working in school settings.The Association aims to support the professional development and welfare of its members through the provision of quality professional development activities, promotion of pro-active programs and information sharing. The outcomes of this include improved educational provisions and programs for all students and the skilling of support providers.

 

What does APACS (SA) offer?

  • Professional development and welfare of its members

  • A forum for members to discuss matters of common concern and professional interest

  • The opportunity to work for the betterment of all students in schools, particularly students at risk

  • Affiliation with national and international psychology and counselling organisations

  • Promotion of research and the publication of work in journals

  • A lobby group to promote the interests of members of the Association

  • Two issues of The Journal of Psychologists and Counsellors in Schools (Formerly The Australian Journal of Guidance and Counselling) annually

  • Both state and national newsletters 

  • Organisation of professional workshops
